Commands

I am very impressed by my ability to draw a random squiggly in that last panel. The cave itself is less impressive because its just slightly squiggly ground on a solid color wall. Ah well. The point of this comic is to have a simplistic art style anyway, so deal with it.

It's time to take Yaldabaoth exploring, so give him some commands.

>Check the diagram and see if it reminds you of anything

ForestFire, July 26th, 2015, 11:47 am Reply

>After checking the diagram, go to the left pathway. It seems to be the most normal.

Light and Shadow, July 26th, 2015, 12:03 pm Reply

>Keep an eye out for traps in the left passage. It looks less natural than the others like something hollowed it out.

Sapar, July 26th, 2015, 1:16 pm Reply

Hooray, people are getting it now! :D

>Pay attention to the pain as you go. Does it ebb? Does it worsen? That's the only real guideline you have so far, so make sure to monitor the sensation.

Fighter Dee, July 26th, 2015, 1:40 pm Reply

>If the pain gets worse, go back and choose another path.

@Ultimant Yoshi: A few comics back you said we had to pay attention to the commands above us but your making it hard to make a continual story. There's so many what ifs: What if the pain levels increase? What if we're going the right way? Which path do we choose? It's pretty hard to keep the commands organized this way.

>Try and contact Lucy. If you're getting out of here you'll have to take her with you. You definitely have a bond with her, so it's worth a shot.

look through each passage to find the right one

>If pain worsens go out and choose the path to the right

>If the left path turns out to be wrong, look at the diagram again to see if you can make sense of it.

>Before you head down a tunnel, do a quick check for any items nearby. And did you notice this cave seems almost artificial? Keep that in mind just in case.

Light and Shadow, July 28th, 2015, 4:11 pm Reply

@Teal Talonflame: The caves inhabited by spiders. If a cave is populated then it tends to have a more carved-out, smooth feel whereas a natural cave would look more jagged and rough. The center cave logically has not been used regularly as it still retains its natural shape.

Teal Talonflame, July 28th, 2015, 4:15 pm Reply

@Light and Shadow: Yeah, I didn't think of that. Sorry.

Light and Shadow, July 28th, 2015, 6:28 pm Reply

@Teal Talonflame: Actually I think you're one of the more perceptive commanders. like I said the center cave is natural: less chance of spiders. Most people here are assuming it's just another cave. If we're trying to avoid spider attacks, we shouldn't head towards the more artificial-looking caves.

Teal Talonflame, July 28th, 2015, 6:32 pm Reply

@Light and Shadow: That makes sense. It also brings up the thought that one of the others may lead to Lucy.

Light and Shadow, July 28th, 2015, 7:02 pm Reply

@Teal Talonflame: I never thought of that.

boa 4812, July 29th, 2015, 1:16 am Reply

@Light and Shadow: however when populated solely by a naturally occurring creature, or creatures, the cave whilst still appearing less jagged will normally have a rough appearing entrance and the main signs will be smell and droppings possibly remains depending on the creature so it is possible the center is a spiders nest exclusively while the others have alternate purposes.

Light and Shadow, July 29th, 2015, 10:18 am Reply

@boa 4812: I have seen some caves where that isn't a possibility (Devil's hole State Park, Niagara Falls, NY) but I can't rule out that possibility. Darn I thought I was being clever :(
